I know that several of you, my blogsite followers, live in or near Austin and even attend Gateway- that's awesome & I love you! Several more of you have connected with me via Twitter, Facebook, or CiD (this website) which is totally legit. While some of you I'm probably related to and that's freakin' cool too.
After my last post about core training (HERE), I thought it might be helpful to inform you of a good exercise/resource in developing your unique leadership skills. After all, I believe that everyone is leading someone but it is how we are leading others that makes us either effective or ineffective.
You may be thinking, "I'm not a leader!" or "No one follows me." Really? Do you have any friends on Facebook? Twitter? MySpace? We live in a very connected world and everyone is following someone. Who is following you? You are their leader. For some of us, we are leading in our homes or in our careers or in our Faith or in our school or in our social club. Regardless of where you are leading, what I do know about you is that you are a leader... maybe you just don't realize it yet. This much is true- someone is watching your actions and emulating your behaviors/thoughts. How are you intentionally leading them to become the Masterpiece that they were created to be?
If you live in or near Austin, I am inviting you to attend this year's annual leadership weekend at Gateway (HERE) called Advance (September 11-12). We're calling this year’s leadership weekend "Advance" for a reason, because we believe God is going to do something amazing in and through this event. As the leadership body at Gateway, it’s time for us to take our leadership to the next level, and we believe this weekend is going to be a watershed moment for us as a faith community.
Join me and hundreds of others as we engage in what organic leadership looks like with Neil Cole and John Burke. Please share this information and help me get the word out about this awesome event!
