Today is Good Friday
Not just any Friday but the Friday of Jesus' final hours before his crucifixion. On this day almost 2,000 years ago He suffered at my expense. He took the beatings that we rightly mine. He suffered the mocking that was rightly mine. He died the death of a criminal although he did nothing wrong; nothing to deserve such a wretched death. He died that I might live and live by faith in Him, Jesus. What an undeserved exchange; what a sacrifice!
Crazy. Love.
In the final moments of his life, He uttered the words, "Eloi, Eloi lama sabachthani!"
Translated: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Jesus-- forsaken by His Father in Heaven. Why? Because something spiritual was happening as Jesus hung on that cross... "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24, NIV
The following video that I made contains the song Meteor Shower by Owl City and absolutely resonates with my soul. It is the basic premise of a life transformed by the Gospel.

All because of Jesus' loving sacrifice... "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:22-24, NIV
Here are some other songs that I am listening to this Good Friday:
