I grew going to church and began following Jesus at age seven. My soul became a battleground after suffering through several abusive situations. I was left feeling devalued which led to self-destructive behaviors- lust, depression, self-injury. Late in college, I began spinning out of control- alcohol, sex, drugs. Then I was reminded of Jesus’ promise- that He would always accept me and forgive me regardless of my past if I willingly trusted Him. I turned back to God. By His grace, Jesus freed me from years of guilt and shame and made me feel worthwhile again. I now live a life of meaning, purpose, and hope.
So, what's your story? I really want to know.
Feel free to comment with your story but here's the deal... your response must be around 100 words or less. This allows the shaping of your story to be concise, clear, simple and humble. If this is your first time doing this, no worries. My story above has gone through about 12 iterations and I am still working out the kinks. But if we never write it down and try to get it worked out, then how can we share Jesus' story as it intersects our lives with anyone else? People need to know that there is a God of grace, acceptance, and hope that loves them. People need to know how Jesus has transformed your life.
